Essential items for formula fed babies.
As a first time mum, you may become overwhelmed with the many items to buy on the market on how to feed your baby. These items are my personal favourites and have been, since the birth of my baby.

A good kettle.
A must have is a kettle. Bonus if it matches your kitchen decor!
An optional kettle to buy would be the Russell Hobbs . I have used this myself and it is easy to fill and perfect to fill up boiling water in a large flask. It boils fast and saves times, it is easy to fill and looks stylish and modern.
A large flask.
A must have is a large flask, preferably a flask which can hold up to 1 litre.
My personal favourite is the Thermos Black Travel Flask. It has been amazing in containing all the boiling water needed throughout the day. It is made out of durable steel, so strong that any knocks won’t make a dent in it!
Cooling your milk.
I use the Nuby Rapid Cooler on every single feed, every day. These are great for cooling the milk to the perfect drinking temperature. It has saved me the waiting time when my little bubba has his crying fits. It is a must have! I don’t think I could live without it.
A quality baby bottle.
Baby bottles should combine safety and comfort using BPA-free materials, leak-proof design and an anti-colic teat to reduce wind and fussiness.
There are many varieties of baby bottles within the UK and it is up to your preference which one to pick. It is best to ensure you get bottle sets to ensure the best value of your money. Remember to make sure they come with slow flow teats as they are suitable from birth!
My current favourite which I have been using for the past 6 months and have never failed me are the MAM Bottles. There anti-colic teat has greatly helped my little bubba to reduce his wind and fussiness. It has easy read measurements and a wide neck. I had purchased them from Boots as a bottle set with teat zer0. They have been a best buy for me.

Picking the right baby formula can feel very overwhelming especially when starting at multiple brands. Don’t they all just do the same thing?
In the UK, the NHS guidelines state you should start baby with first infant formula which is suitable from birth. This is the only milk your baby needs for 12 months.
There are many different types as they are for specific situations or guidance from a healthcare provider. So start with a first infant formula unless a midwife, health visitor or G.P. has suggested otherwise.
When choosing a brand, you have a couple such as Aptamil, Cow & Gate, SMA, Kendamil, HiPP and Mamia. They are all nutritionally very similar but the prices can vary, so pick whichever you fancy. Make sure you can afford a brand that is readily available to you and that your baby can tolerate.
These are life savers when your baby is fussy and wants to be held, this can be used at first for preparing night feeds and day feeds. They are also great for travelling and pours easily into the bottles.
You can get some pots with 3 compartments where I use the Fred & Flo Milk Powder Dispenser for travelling and enough to cover me for the night feeds. I also use the Nuby Baby Milk Powder Dispensers for the day time feeds, or for a long day out of travelling. They are easy enough to re-top up once your bubba is asleep.
Muslin cloths.
It is important to purchase a variation of muslin cloths or bibs. They should be soft and breathable. When bottle feeding, they can be used to catch any spillage of milk dribbling from little bubbas mouth and protect their clothing.
